When the heat and humidity hit here in Florida, I am all about easy dressing, and yet, I like looking pulled together rather than roll out of bed chic, which some women do so well–that’s just not my style. I have also learned after living in Florida for some thirty years, that shorts and pants for late spring and summer aren’t my thing either. I am a dress girl, because they are easy and cool, it’s as simple as that!
Day to day, jersey tank dresses that can be dressed up or down with light accessories, jackets or sweaters keep me pulled together and comfortable. Over the years, I have collected several black dresses and an assortment of accessories that keep me from getting bored, because I do like variety, and I do get bored with the same old, same old.
Finding black dresses has been easy–Target and Old Navy have a great selection, and when I want something more structured, say for work, I head to Nordstrom or J.Crew. While I love color, I made a point of seeking black because of it’s versatility and it’s slimming effects.
Tank dresses may not be for everyone–nothing is–so I grabbed a maxi and a swingy trapeze dress as well. So I’ll leave it here, letting the photos tell the story–with the hope that you’ll take a look in your closet and find some new ways to wear old treasures.
