This May has been simply glorious. The weather couldn’t be better, and it’s just now beginning to be super hot and humid. This month we went to Dunedin twice because it was so amazing. We ate at the Living Room on Main, a warm casual eatery where we love getting plates to share and taking our time to enjoy the vibe and great food. You can eat in doors or out, and they have a cool bar which is very popular in the evening. Among the things I love about Dunedin are the great restaurants, my all time favorite is the Black Pearl–I make a point to eat there on my birthday every year–it’s so special–the food is completely amazing, and now, for me, years of birthday memories with a few New Years Eves thrown in as well. I also love brunch at Bon Apetit–on the terrace overlooking the Gulf–I could gush on, but I won’t.
We also visited Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, another wonderful treasure, Philippe park is located on Old Tampa Bay with scenic views everywhere you look. The park features the Temple Mound which was built by the Tocobaga and is the largest remaining mound in the region. It was used for ceremonial purposes back in the day. The park is named for Odete Philippe who introduced citrus culture to Florida and who owned the land as a part of his citrus plantation. For more photos featuring Philippe Park, click here.
The Style Collective and Fab’rik hosted a lovely May meet up where I met other local bloggers. We had a blast shopping and chatting. For more about the Style Collective Party click here.
Now I find myself at the end of the month of May, with all the festivities surrounding Brooke’s graduation. Abruptly cut the cord Momma! She leaves for college in just a few weeks! You can imagine my emotions have been a rollercoaster!
In the makeup department this May, I just picked up a sample of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear foundation after hearing about it from several YouTubers–I wore it many years ago, but for some reason moved on. Well, I’m back baby! And loving it. It seems to wear exceptionally well which is what I am going to be needing as the weather here heats up.
I am also loving fresh Sugar tinted lip treatment in Honey but I know better than to leave it in my purse on a hot day, so I’ll be pulling out some melt proof colors later today.
I’m still mad for Dolche & Gabanna’s L’Imperatrice Perfume-it’s light and fresh–perfumes are so personal, I know–but I just love the scent right now–I can’t get enough, I’ve been wearing it every day.
We binged on Father Brown this May and now are in the middle of Doctor Blake, both on Netflix. And I have been smitten with 1950’s and 1960’s style. Until next month…
