Did I mention it’s hot here in Florida? In case you haven’t gotten the full dose of my whining about the heat and my being hot, it’s hot here. But it’s really the humidity that makes it all the more insufferable. I dress in soft fabrics that are light and don’t cling, wear next to no jewelry and after all these years, I am still experimenting in the makeup department.
My solution: Light airy linens, sundresses, and barely there makeup. Barely there makeup got you, didn’t it? I love full coverage makeup, but it takes some time to get it just right, only to have it melt or wear away after all the effort in the summer months—we won’t even talk about hair. Today, I tried something entirely different, just a tinted CC cream, a dust of blush and eyeshadow, and I think I pulled it off—though it will require a bit of tweaking to get things just the way I like it next time—I forgot my Benefit Porefessional which is a necessity and will be added next time. The good news is: it only took about 15 minutes, instead of an hour and so far, it looks pretty good. So we’ll see.
I started with It! CC+ bronzer, which I used like a moisturizer. I added Tarte Shape Tape concealer and dusted lightly with Laura Mercier translucent powder to set. I then swept my cheeks with Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, the dupe for Nars Orgasm, which I ran out of and haven’t replaced. So far, so good with the dupe, though it does require a mid day touch up. I then grabbed an old palette, Dior’s Au Naturel for a dusting of a subtle shimmering peach on the lid and the darker yet sheer brown to define the outer portion of my lids. On my lips, I experimented with my newest acquisition, fresh Sugar tinted lip treatment in Bloom, which I found a bit light so I experimented a bit with lip liner underneath to get the depth and intensity I like.
The end is an effortless looking tan with just enough coverage to look finished, but without the time consuming layers I usually wear. This may just be my summer look!
