I’ve been trying to be a bit more adventurous of late. We bloggers tend to like to spend a lot of time writing, tweaking our blogs or scrolling round the internet and social media for inspiration. While I love being in my little shell doing just that, I also want to live outside in the real world too. To that end, I have been making an effort to try new things and meet new people.
My latest adventure took me to a Style Collective Podcast Launch party hosted by a boutique in South Tampa called Fab’rik. There I met six bloggers (#girlbosses) who are also members of Style Collective, a platform for female influencers to connect, grow and learn to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs.
We chatted, learned a bit about each other’s blogs and audiences, tried on some cute clothes, bought some cute clothes, and are looking forward to getting together again soon. Though I am old enough to be their mother–they treated me like one of the girls–which was completely wonderful, because, frankly, I don’t feel 57 and it always feels odd when I think of my actual age.
Fab’rik is a super trendy shop filled to the brim with fun, casual styles great for a laid back fashionista. We all found lots of things to try on, and I don’t think anyone left empty handed! ….Including me. I purchased a cute strapless number that my daughter quickly snatched–as soon as I got home. On her, it is a dress–for me, it’s a tunic. I’m 5’7″–she is 5’2″. We both look great in it, and it’s the first thing we are excited to share.
So, who was there, you ask?
Eugenia a beauty blogger with a huge following who started her first blog at age 8. She is also a foodie with a second blog called www.geniabemefood.com.
Lucielle Salomon, is a fashion and beauty blogger and is also a Huffington Post contributor.
Linette Rivera who is also a doctor and co-owner of Bella Mia Medi spa. She is also endocrinologist.
Sarah Hunt writes about fashion, beauty and travel and also works full time as a medical sales representative.
Jenn writes about fashion and is very involved in social causes. She is a stylist and fashion event planner as well.
Gentry Adams blogs about fashion and lifestyle, is a jewelry buyer for the HSN and is a past president of the Junior League.
I was super impressed not only by the quality of their blogs, but by their accomplishments. I don’t think any of them have even hit the big 30 yet! These are true #girlbosses, and all this #ladyboss can say is this world better watch out!
Also, I’d like to thank Style Collective, Fab’rik and Lilly Dilly Jewelry for hosting the event, and for the thoughtful gifts!
