I just got a package from J.Jill, and OMG! I fell in love. I know you’re thinking, “she falls in love with all her clothes–she’s the one who thinks her clothes talk.” Anyway, I got two tops, and a dress. Not a major haul, but enough to bump up an already abundant wardobe.
There I was, slitting the box open, and carefully opening the bags–with my jeans at my ankles, shimmying the dress over my head to get a quick look, and even in my completely disheveled state, I could see that the dress was definitely going to be my summer go to. I could wear it to a casual lunch and I knew it would be great for a weekend get away. I will wear it loose or belted, with flats or heels, And my number one secret to looking great in 95% with humidity through the roof is a light, floaty dress. No matter what else goes wrong–like frizzy hair and melting makeup for instance–no one notices any of that when you are wearing a cute dress. Trust me, it’s tried and tested.
Let’s dish about the tops:
One was a super versatile tunic–I already had several looks in mind from a swimsuit coverup, to the office–my clothes may talk–and even have French accents, but they also work very hard, and this one is no exception, though she kind of has a northeastern accent! As my dear readers know, I’ve worn the tunic out to lunch and on a day trip to the Florida Aquarium. I also have a pair of white linen pants that will be great on a super hot summer day. In my book, a linen tunic is a summer and travel essential. See blog post here:Read about it here
And, check out top number three a shell overlaid with lace–I was flooded with ideas. Often, when we see something in a catalog, we wear it as it’s shown, and this beautiful shell was first shown with leggings–a super cute look, but I immediately saw it was going to be great for my daughter’s graduation with a suit–then got loads of complements when I wore it to her college orientation with jeans, hoop earrings and a gold tassel necklace. This top is another great summer essential, which can be worn both for work and leisure. Get the full 411 about graduation and what I wore on Wednesday!
Thank you to J. JIll for providing the dress, tunic and white lace tank featured in this post.
