It’s hot! It’s Tunic Time! We are now in the uncomfortable time of the year that most people look forward to: summer. Only, those of us who live in Florida spend our summers avoiding the outdoors or going through our contact lists friending up anyone who lives “Up North” who will take us in for an extended period–are you interested in hosting an obsessed fashionista who spends her days writing and shooting Instagram photos of her food and clothes?–Probably not, most people find such things annoying.
Anyway, it’s also graduation weekend and like lots of other proud families we are entertaining and sight seeing as well as celebrating this auspicious time for my daughter. As always, I am looking to have a nice time, keep cool and look good doing it!
We lunched at Red Robin to celebrate Brooke’s first job and show her grandmother the restaurant where she works. It doesn’t hurt that we love the Whiskey Chicken sandwich, so off we went to the mall. (No we didn’t take pictures of the food this time!)
J.Jill sent this lovely linen tunic in a soft stripe perfect belted with jeans for a polished look–the thing I love about tunics is their versatility. I love it belted and am already planning to wear it loose with linen pants when it gets really hot.
The top is also super cute tucked in to shorts or a skirt–we took my mother to the Florida Aquarium which is totally beautiful and a great indoor place to take guests when it’s too hot to be out of doors. Here, I added a pair of simple white shorts and a scarf–I’m loving scarves this season, like hats, they add a little extra “something” to a look that takes it to the next level.
Tunics are great for travel because they are so versatile, I sometimes wear one as a duster over a cute tee or tank with jeans or shorts and I will be wearing my tunic over swimwear as well. And, oh my, the linen blend is perfect for a hot summer’s
day–it’s light and breezy and feels wonderfully floaty. Don’t be surprised to see this tunic on repeat all summer long!
So Ladies! Let’s Link up!
