Valentines Day Outfits You Need This Year

Romance is in the air and it’s time to get serious about what we are going to wear, Valentines Day outfits for 2021 might be a bit challenging. What we wear sets the tone for all our endeavors, so for special days such as Valentines Day, our first thoughts must turn to sorting the wardrobe question.  (Spoken like a true fashionista, right?)

To determine what you are going to wear this Valentines Day, we need a plan.  If you haven’t got a plan, we can’t recommend the perfect outfit! 

To remedy this most serious of problems, you must read my Valentine Date Night Ideas post.  There you will get several really great date night ideas for 2021 (if your partner hasn’t divined a magical date already, of course!)  

Last year, Roger did the planning.  He took me to one of my bucket list shows and dinner.  It was divine and an evening I will never forget.  Naturally I dressed in my favorite elegant evening attire; I wanted to feel glamorous and elegant that night.  Part of the fun is the preparation and and anticipation.  

This year it might be a movie night for us, as most of us will be celebrating at home, or in a much more intimate way such as a romantic picnic.  But there is no reason not to put together a special outfit and maybe even a little pamper time before hand, so you feel especially amazing. 

Looking toward being home for Valentines Day may feel a bit anti-climactic. When I am feeling a bit stale I put together a spa/pamper day for myself to help shift my mood.  Getting out for a nice walk also really clears the cobwebs for me.  Take some time to think about what makes you feel good and arrange to do that.

As we embark on Valentines Day 2021, I thought I’d break down a few outfit ideas  and some of my pamper favorites.  Here at the Casa, it’s going to be a movie night, but I think we are going to take it up a notch and prepare a dinner to go along with the movie we plan to watch, and naturally I plan to do a little pampering before hand and wear something cute.

Movie Night Outfit Idea

There are lots of romantic movies out there, and creating a date around a special movie is not exactly a new idea, but planning and pulling out the stops creates anticipation and just makes things more fun.  I love soft sweaters a comfortable pair of jeans, a super soft throw, this one from Barefoot Dreams, so so soft! A Romantic Picnic

Planning a cold weather picnic with flasks of hot chocolate, cozy warm sweaters, furry vests and a beautiful setting is wonderful on so many levels.  The fresh air clears out cobwebs and getting out to enjoy the winter wonderland. There is something special about premium hot chocolate, a special cute mug–the one I found even has a heart on it, and of course you have to wear cozy boots!

Going Glam Anyway

Over on Instagram I see that lots of us are planning to go glam anyway! Why not pull out all the stops! I found this very affordable dress and paired it with a splurge shoe, a pretty necklace and of course our glam girl needs some special wine flutes to toast the evening!

Whether you cook or get a take away, a glam evening to change things up is definitely worth the effort! I would definitely spend the afternoon pampering, set a beautiful table, and enjoy the sensuousness that is glam.

Pamper Favorites

Even though we might find ourselves wearing PJ’s more than we might like, I couldn’t resist recommending this beautiful cheetah robe, a gorgeous Jo Malone scent, Some truffles, and that really cool print to add to the vibe. Yes, I admit it, I might be known to purchase a print or two to set the tone around here! This one would go great in a dressing room with it’s chic vibes. And of course we can’t do with out some special chocolates to enjoy on valentines day!

Julie – Fashion Trends and Friends –  Mr. FTF and I are pretty boring when it comes to at home dates.  We like keeping it simple.  For us a good time date night at home includes:  carryout (I don’t cook!), Netflix, maybe a bowl of popcorn or some type of desert and LAUGHS always lots of laughs!  I’m usually dressed super casual – think sweatshirts and sweatpants (I do have the cutest Valentine’s set!)!  However since it is the week of LOVE, I’m sharing all of my Valentine’s looks – many can actually be worn year round.  By the way, we love to go out and do so at least once a week.  Illinois is back open for indoor dining so we have reservations at our favorite restaurant for Valentine’s Day!  Hope you feel all the LOVE this week and have many reasons to LOVE BIG!

Shelbee – Shelbee on the Edge – This date night at home theme was announced just before my scheduled date night at home for our 11th wedding anniversary. While I had plans to dress up a bit for our special night, my hormones decided otherwise and slammed me with debilitating cramps all night long. And so I ended up spending our date night in my coziest things curled up on the couch! But if I had been able to dress up, I would have worn this comfy black velvet pant suit that is a recent thrift shop acquisition. I love the elastic waistband and wide legs of the pants making them feel more like pajamas than dress pants. I layered a cowl neck sweater under the velvet cardigan and slipped my cold tootsies into some furry line rose gold mules. A simple tassel necklace and earrings in gold and rose gold completed my look. All set for date night 2021-style!
