Last summer, I challenged myself to try swim suits from Amazon. I ordered 5 suits, we shot three and I actually kept two of the suits. (Two were so bad I couldn’t get them off fast enough.) Each suit retailed for $25-30 well below the price I usually pay for swimwear. I am happy with my suits, I felt they were well made and very stylish. They definitely measured up to my more expensive suits. However, the experience was a little hit and miss.
My chief complaints? Poor fit, no lining, and cheap looking fabric. The two piece I tried felt like I was wearing diapers, so though it looked “cute” I would never wear it. Such are the first world perils of shopping online, and specifically from Amazon.
This year, I thought I’d comb through Amazon again, to see what I could find, but wanted to see if I could find luxury or if I could find American or European made swimwear. It took a bit of digging, but I found some great suits to share.
Chic Stylish and Very Budget Friendly
Before I got going with my “designer” search, I spotted this elegant black suit which I just had to share. I haven’t ordered it, mind you, but it looks elegant and would definitely be in my shopping cart to try. So this is my top pic in the modest price range. You can shop it here.
Amazon has collaborated with several stores including Brooks Brothers, (no swimsuits though) and Shop Bop which offers many luxury brands. I also found Trina Turk, a huge resort favorite. I decided to choose a patterned suit here because one of the things Trina is known for is her use of pattern.

I just love the tones of this suit by Becca Virtue. I’ve purchased Becca swim wear before and love it. This color combination is perfect for accentuating a summer tan, and the lines are super slimming.

LaBlanca is another of my favorite swim brands. This suit comes in several colors but white is on trend so much this year I just had to give it some love. I love the scallop detail on the top. It is stunning in several of the colors it comes in, so if you don’t like white, there are many other choices. Shop the white La Blanca swim suit here.
I just couldn’t resist another black suit! I love the mesh detail at the waist. There were several color and fabric options for this suit, and I had difficulty choosing. There was a navy suit in this same style in a really cool textured fabric. You can shop this suit here.
With a little digging, I was able to find some of the brands I normally shop for. Some of the suits were offered at a lower price than I find at Nordstrom and some of the other places I usually shop for swim wear, and you can try them on in the comfort of your own home. Be sure to check for the return policy, every once in a while I find that I have ordered from a market place seller which different policies. Check out last year’s Amazon Swim wear post here.
Have you tried swimwear from Amazon yet? If so, what was your experience?
