Laura Geller makeup is well-known for its high-quality ingredients and long-lasting coverage. But with so many different products, it can be tough to know which ones are worth the investment. Fortunately, we’ve done the hard work for you and narrowed down the top five Laura Geller beauty products for mature women.
Makeup Artist Laura Geller created a makeup line that caters to mature women–you may have seen Laura Geller products at Macy’s, QVC, or Ulta–Now they are available online, at www.laurageller.com. Because Laura Geller Cosmetics is now sold exclusively online, it is a little harder to shop–because you can’t try the products to see how well they work on your skin. Because of this, I wanted to share my specific favorites, and why I like them. One thing I like about the line is that the brand makes a point of catering to real women–which is unique in the beauty world.
I want to start by talking a little bit about the problems we tend to encounter most as older women. Many of us have dry skin, some have sensitive skin. Regardless of skin type, as an older woman, I want a natural look,–whether the maker gives me a satin finish or a natural finish–I don’t want to look like I have a face of heavy cake makeup. I want a foundation that covers my age spots, plays nice with my skincare products, doesn’t settle into lines and wrinkles, and isn’t so shiny that it draws attention to fine lines and wrinkles. It doesn’t seem like too much to ask, does it? I looked at the Laura Geller brand some time back and found I loved the baked blush–which led me to try the powder foundation, and, in 2019, I got the chance to try the entire line. I wrote a comprehensive blog post about it here.
In this post, I wanted to focus specifically on my favorite Laura Geller makeup products, the ones I think you will like the most. One of the things I love is Laura Geller’s full-face palettes. They are often on sale, so be sure to check out the sale tab when you visit the site. I also love the spackle primer this is Laura Geller’s most popular product. When I was younger, I rarely used a primer, but I have found that using a primer helps prevent caking whether you like light coverage or fuller coverage. If nothing else, add the makeup primer to your bag.
After make-up primer, people rave about Laura Geller’s powder foundation and Laura Geller’s foundation in general. I found, however, that after trying the powder formula, it’s not a favorite, though it offers light-to-medium coverage, I found it didn’t wear as well as I would have liked, and I could still see my dark spots beneath the foundation. Another cult favorite is the Spackle concealer–which is nice, but I like the Dior concealer better, after trying all the top concealers. You can read/or watch here.
Now on to my favorites:
Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator –
This highlighter is perfect for mature skin because of its creamy texture and natural-looking shimmer. It comes in four different shades to match any skin tone and can be applied with a brush or your fingers for a subtle or more dramatic effect. The baked formula also means that it won’t settle into fine lines or wrinkles, making it a great choice for mature women.
Spackle Mattifying Primer –
If you have oily skin or want your makeup to last longer, this primer is a must-have. It creates a smooth, matte base for your foundation and helps control shine throughout the day. Plus, it’s formulated with antioxidants and vitamins to protect your skin from environmental stressors.
LashBOSS Bold Mascara –
This mascara is perfect for mature women who want to add volume and drama to their lashes. The cone-shaped brush separates and coats each individual lash for a fanned-out effect, while the long-wearing formula won’t smudge or flake throughout the day.
Filter First Luminous Foundation –
This foundation is perfect for mature skin because of its hydrating and luminous finish. It contains a blend of antioxidants and vitamins to nourish and protect your skin, and the light-reflecting pigments give you a natural, radiant glow. Plus, it’s buildable and long-lasting, so you can customize your coverage depending on your needs.
Blush-n-Brighten Baked Cheek Color –
This blush is a cult favorite for a reason – it gives you a perfect flush of color with just a few swipes. The baked formula blends seamlessly into your skin and has a luminous finish, so you don’t need to worry about any chalky or powdery textures. It comes in nine different shades to match any skin tone and can be used as a blush, highlighter, or both.
