As a younger woman, I had oily skin and didn’t use cream blusher. Now that my skin is a bit dryer, I thought Id give it a whirl. I fell in love with the glow, which prompted us to curate The Best Cream Blushes for Women Over 50. As Brooke, our new beauty editor, began woking on this post, I purchased a pile of cream blush to try, and I found that I really loved the natural glow, and the easy application process—you simply apply to the apples of your cheeks, and blend with a circular motion for a healthy glow. You don’t have to be a make up artist to get a good result, and it works for a full range of skin tones adding just the right amount of color. You may want to keep your skin type in mind—though older women will love a good cream formula, natural finish and rosy glow from this type of product. I love the youthful look it gives. I also found that using a foundation brush works wonders in the blending process along with a light dusting of powder to set.
Cream blush is an essential item to keep in your makeup bag. Cream blush is super flattering and easy to use, plus it’s usually multi-use as you can put it on your eyes or lips too, making it great for travel or for women who are on the go.
Cream blush is great for mature skin, as powder blushes can settle into fine lines and creases and can give your skin a dry and cakey appearance. Cream blushes can be more hydrating and complimentary to mature skin, and they are great for those “no-makeup makeup” looks. Cream blush is perfect if you want a little color but don’t want to wear a full face of foundation, but it can also be blended in on top of foundation, concealer, or bb cream too.
Finding a great cream blush that doesn’t gather or crease on mature skin can be difficult with the sheer number of options out there. But we did the work for you and conducted our own research to create the ultimate list of the best cream blushes for mature skin by category, so no matter your skin tone or budget, we’ve got you covered.

Best High-End Cream Blush
NARS The Multiple – $39
NARS is well known for making amazing blush, so it’s no wonder it topped our “Best High End” category. This stick blush can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips, and the more bronze shades can be used for contour as well. The formula is a bit sheer, so it may not be the best option for those with deeper skin tones. The product is creamy and easy to blend, which looks very flattering on mature skin. It has a cream to powder formula, leaving a matte finish on the skin. NARS The Multiple comes in 10 shades and is a longtime fan favorite with great reviews.

Best Budget Cream Blush
e.l.f Monochromatic Multi Stick – $4
This cream stick blush comes in 8 shades and dries matte, perfect for those who have oiler skin and prefer a powder finish. It’s not greasy and blends like a dream onto bare skin or into foundation. You can also use this product on your eyelids and as a lip tint, making it a great travel buddy (perfect price point too, if you lose it on vacation, it’s no biggie). It contains vitamin E and shea butter, which helps keep the skin moisturized and prevents the product from settling into fine lines. e.l.f. is known for their accessible and great quality products.

Best Dewy Glow Cream Blush
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm – $26.50
The Clinique Chubby Stick has been hugely popular for years, and rightfully so. It’s incredibly buttery and very pigmented and buildable, a bonus for those with tan and deep skin tones. This stick blush is multi-purpose (surprise surprise!) and can be used on the lips as well for a beautiful flush. Its price point is right in the middle, affordable but a bit more high-end than the drugstore options.

Best Cream Blush for Fair Skin
Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Cream – $25
Stila’s cream blush is ultra-translucent and dewy, perfect for those with fair skin and who don’t wear any foundation or base makeup. This product is meant to give you just a little bit of natural flush. The product comes in 5 shades in a beautiful compact. This product is also a multi-tasker as it can be used on the eyes and lips for a quick and easy no-makeup-makeup look for the summertime.

Best Blush for Deep Skin Tones
It can be difficult to find cream blushes for medium to deep skin tones as many cream blushes are so sheer, they don’t always look natural or show up well on deeper skin. However, Glossier has some beautiful buildable liquid blush products that look beautiful on tan and deep skin tones. Glossier’s Cloud Paint in the color Haze comes in a tube and has a dewy finish. Fair warning, these start out looking pretty bright, but once they’re blended down, they look natural and lovely. These are also buildable, making it easier to build on deeper skin and gives you the ability to really get your blush exactly how you like it.
We also tried Honest Beauty Cream Blush, which was a fan favorite, Peau De Cle, Tarte, Trinny London and Fenty Blush. You can learn more by watching the video Best Cream Blushes for Women 50+ for a review of these additional blushes.
No matter your skin tone or price point, there are tons of cream blush options out there for you. Be sure to let us know if one of your faves isn’t on this list that you think we should try out We are always looking for the “best of” in every skincare, haircare, and makeup category.

hi, i’m Brooke
I love…
Writing, researching, and trying the latest in beauty products. I recently graduated from UCF as an Ad/PR major with a minor in writing and rhetoric. I look forward to finding you the very best products.
I believe women shine from the inside out, but a little help from good skin care and makeup products doesn’t hurt.
So glad to find out more about this! I adore cream bush- and have been a long time aficionado of the Chanel ones…but honestly have been dying to try the one from Nars- I will now for sure!! Thank you for the reviews!
Nina, thanks so much for sharing this review of cream blush. I still use a powder blush but I have been noticing that as my skin ages I am needing to switch certain makeup products. Liquid eyeliner was the first to go because it gets all weird on the eyelid wrinkles! I am due for a new blush soon so I may have to give some of these cream ones a try!
