Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s day, this holiday is the perfect excuse to get dolled up, and there are plenty of options for women who want to look their best. Whether you are planning a casual evening at home or an elegant and romantic dinner at your favorite restaurant, here are several great valentine’s outfits that will make you look and feel fabulous and impress your special someone. I love date night, and any other special occasion to wear fancy dresses and go on a romantic date. Naturally, I’m all about putting together cute valentine’s day outfits. Regardless of relationship status, valentines day is the most romantic day of the year, and it’s the perfect time to wear bold colors and statement earrings.
I’ve put together several date night outfits to inspire you whether you are staying home for movie night or going out to a fancy restaurant. February 14th is one day you get to play with a little romance, a little glamour, or casual chic.
Valentines Day Dresses
The first option is a timeless classic: a little black dress. This look is both stylish and sophisticated, and can easily be dressed up with statement jewelry or evening shoes. For an added touch of romance, you could opt for a red dress instead. This is a great office-to-dinner look, which is great for women who work outside the home. Everyone looks great in a little black dress, and everyone should have a LBD in her wardrobe. If you want to modify the look a little while still keeping it elegant, try navy, burgundy, or chocolate brown.
A classic dress with a modern twist can also be the perfect way to celebrate the day. Try a dress in a bold color–this year’s bright pink for example, or red lace dress with a unique neckline and add some sparkle with statement jewelry. This simple, classic, and elegant look will take you from the boardroom to cocktails with ease. At the same time, it’s a little less expected than the little black dress. Dresses are so easy to style, and there is a dress for everyone, whether you go with a mini or shorter dress or a midi dress. They also take accessories well and can be modified by adding a belt or changing your shoes.
Casual Valentines Day Outfits
If you’re looking for something a bit more casual, why not try pairing some faux leather jeans with an embellished top? A cute blouse with sequins or lace detailing will add just the right amount of sparkle to the ensemble. Finish the look off with heels and a chic clutch for an effortless Valentine’s Day style. This is a fun look that I suspect everyone has in their closet already. If not, finding a cute sequin top or sequin pants is pretty easy this time of year and you may even find these pieces on an after new years sale.
For those who prefer to keep things simple, a pair of dark jeans and a crisp white blouse can never go wrong. This classic combo is perfect for any occasion and is also incredibly easy to style. You could add some sophistication with jewelry or even dress it up further with some smart trousers and a cardigan. For a classic outfit like this, be sure to pay attention to the details, a nice pair of heels, a chic gold bracelet, and a clutch-style bag are great additions to your look. I love this look with a chic chignon hairstyle and thick gold hoops.
If you want to stand out from the crowd, why not try something totally unexpected like an elegant jumpsuit? Choose one in red or creamy white for an extra special Valentine’s Day flair, or opt for black if you prefer. Finish this look off with strappy heels and sparkly jewelry to make sure all eyes are on you. I wrote a post a few years ago about styling my black jumpsuit in several different ways. At the time I purchased my black jumpsuit, it was a little on the pricey side, but I’ve gotten so much wear out of it, it was worth the price. It looks amazing even all these years later. I was surprised by how versatile a black jumpsuit is.
Sexy Valentines Day Outfit Ideas
If you’re daring, why not take your outfit choice one step further and wear a skirt with split sides? This daring and edgy look is perfect for making a statement on Valentine’s Day. Choose something in faux leather and pair it with a bodysuit, a bralette or graphic tee, chunky boots or loafers, and some glamorous jewelry to complete the look. If you’re looking for something edgier, try pairing a bold blazer with leather leggings or skinny jeans paired with knee-high boots with high heels. Add some chunky jewelry to make the look pop. This is a fun look and I bet you already have some of the pieces in your closet.
Romantic Valentines Day Outfit
Give your style an ethereal feel with a romantic floral print dress. Look for something in delicate pastel hues and add some strappy heels and a feminine necklace and earrings. Style your hair in a romantic half-up, half-down style with soft waves around your face. If you want to make this look slightly edgy, add a pair of chunky boots and a leather jacket.
If you’re looking for something relaxed yet still stylish, why not try a simple midi dress paired with some heeled boots and an oversized cardigan? This casual-chic look is perfect for any Valentine’s Day celebration. A knit midi dress is the ultimate in comfort and style. Add a moto jacket for added edge, or layer it with a cardigan for a more romantic feel. No matter how you style it, this look is sure to turn heads.
Valentines Day Lingerie
Don’t forget that what you wear under your Valentine’s outfit is just as important as what is on top. Choosing a scented body lotion or a lovely scent helps set the tone for your evening–here are a couple of favorite scents. Don’t forget the shapewear and lingerie either. I always feel more confident when I am wearing something pretty and sexy under my clothing.
No matter your style, there is a perfect Valentine’s Day look for you. I hope this Valentine’s day outfit ideas inspire you to create a great outfit. Don’t feel as though you have to go out and buy a whole new outfit either–go through your closet and try various pieces together. You will be surprised by the outfits you can create. Most of all, have fun and express your love to your special someone. After all, that’s what valentine’s day is all about.

oh I happened to be passing by your site. A quick tip for big revenue growth here is to talk more about the problems ladies are facing over 50, then at the end of the post refer them to your products :)…you have a lot of selling products upfront, which is a tad off putting as seems salesy on the fly, instead of really discussing womens issues they are really facing, perhaps you are facing, with the sale on the backend of it, and a strong email marketing campaign…well done though! All the best…
Thank you for your comment and suggestions. I am always experimenting with different types of content. Most posts here are informational, we’ve only just begun including product links, and of course, I don’t want to come across as sales-ey.
